Yea, my first thought is that this is an upsell scam. Paying for the training isn't an immediate red flag - depending on the cost and its quality. But once you have to pay to work for them it gets kooky. Them keeping most of the profits is fine if they are putting up the capital. If they transfer any trading risk to you it is a very big red flag.
