Posted October 9, 2021. I just fixed one of those. I very carefully cut the top (on mine it is a black plate) off with a razor saw. This allowed access to the internal switch components. I polished the contact points, increased the tension in the moving contact by bending it a little.

The confusion arises because I believe there is a 37" deck (possibly 05-37SC02) that uses a conventional belt (3 sided) and consequently the pulley configuration changes for the idler and mule on that deck. Notice the headlamps are powered by their own stator winding and only work with the engine running.
